Dr. Bowden-McKay is a native Texan originally from Houston. She obtained her bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Baylor University. She then went on to medical school and received her medical doctorate (MD) from the University of Texas at Houston McGovern Medical School. Dr. Bowden-McKay then completed her residency at the University of Alabama Birmingham in internal medicine. Following residency, she returned to Texas to do her fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Texas at Houston, where she also trained at the world-renowned MD Anderson Cancer Center. She was also selected as chief gastroenterology fellow. She is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.
Dr. Bowden-McKay treats all general GI issues and has special interests including women’s health, colon cancer screening, esophageal disorders, and inflammatory bowel disease.
In her spare time, she enjoys exercise, gardening, and spending time with her family.
